Consumer Medicine Information (CMI)
FICOLAX
• Ingredients and active components
Ficolax Syrup is formulated and made, in accordance with scientific and standard methods, from the aqueous extract of the fruits of fig (Ficus carica L.). In traditional medicine, fig has long been used as a laxative. Avicenna writes in his Canon of Medicine that fig causes perspiration and so expulses waste matter towards the skin, and ingesting it generates heat and relaxation. Fresh fig is emollient and slightly laxative.
Each 100 ml of the syrup contains 10 ml standardized extract of fig fruit.
Fig is a nutritious and delectable fruit containing various sugars, nitrogen-containing compounds, lipids, minerals, amino acids, various enzymes and carotene.
