HERACLES
 •    Ingredients and active components (consumer medicine information)
Made of extract of Panax ginseng L. and Ginkgo biloba L.
Each Heracles tablet contains 45 mg standardized dried extract of Panax ginseng L. and 70 mg Ginkgo biloba L..
Active ingredients include:
Panax ginseng:

  • A combination of triterpene saponins called ginsenosides
  • Water-soluble polysaccharides
  • Polyenes: falcarinol and falcarindiol

Ginkgo biloba:

  • Flavonoids including quercetin, kaempferol, and isorhamnetin
  • Tri lactonic diterpenes: ginkgolides
  • Tri lactonic sesquiterpene bilobalides.

 
•    What HERACLES is used for 

  • Sexual problems: The saponin fraction of Ginseng (Panax ginseng) enhances sperm motility.
  • Concentration, memory, and learning deficiency. Clinical trials show that Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) improves mild to moderate dementia and slows its deterioration.
  • Arteriosclerotic problems: vertigo, dementia, and behavioral changes.
  • Strengthens the immune system and reduces recovery time.
  • Physical and mental disorders such as fatigue and debility.

 
•    How HERACLES works 

  • The pharmacological functions of Panax ginseng in different tissues have been related to the ginsenosides present in the plant.
  • Ginkgo biloba extract has a positive effect on blood circulation and on the vascular system.
  • A combination of Panax ginseng and Ginkgo biloba enhances brain function, treats memory disorders and improves blood circulation in the body. Also, the concurrent use of these two herbs increases the blood flow in the reproductive system, which leads to an enhancement in the performance, libido, and fertility in men and women.

 
•    Before you use HERACLES
When NOT to take it 

  • Due to the antiplatelet effects of this drug, concomitant use with other antiplatelet, warfarin, ….. and NSAIDs should be avoided.
  • Patients who take nifedipine should not use this medicinal supplement.

Use during Pregnancy and Lactation
It is not recommended to use Heracles during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
 

•    Taking HERACLES
How and when to ‎take it 
Adults: take 1 tablet two times a day after breakfast and lunch with water.
How long to take it 
Treatment has to be continued for at least four weeks.
What to do if you miss a dose 
If you miss a dose of Heracles, try to take it as soon as remember if it’s almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the regular time. Do not take two doses of it at the same time.
 
•    While you are taking HERACLES
Things to be careful of‎ 
It is important to note that Ginkgo biloba might lower the seizure threshold.
Diabetic patients can take this medication after consulting a physician.
 

•    Side effects 

  • Hypoglycemia in diabetic patients
  • Ginseng increases blood pressure at usual doses but lowers it when doses are higher.

•    After taking it
Storage 

  • Store in a dry place, keep away from direct sunlight and below 25 °C.
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Disposal 
Do not put into sewer lines. Dispose in the everyday rubbish bin.‎
