• Ingredients and active components
Made of Willow (Salix alba L.) extract.
Phytosprin100 tablet is made from a standardized dried extract of white willow (Salix alba L.).
Glycosides and esters yielding salicyclic acid, salicin, salicortin, tannins, and flavonoids.

It has antiplatelet and anti-inflammatory effects. Furthermore, it is used to reduce and treat fever, mild to moderate pain including back pain, transient skeletal muscle and PMS pain.
• How PHYTOSPRIN 100 works
This product inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase. Platelets are especially sensitive to this effect. Also, its anti-inflammatory effects function by inhibiting the production of antibodies, inhibiting histamine release via antigens and by stabilizing capillary permeability during immunological reactions.
• Before you use PHYTOSPRIN 100
When NOT to take it
- Should not be used in patients with an active gastric or duodenal ulcer, hemophilia, asthma, or diabetes.
- This drug and its ingredients should not be used in children under 12 years old (due to the risk of Reye syndrome), except in special cases such as juvenile arthritis.
- This drug should not be used in children with symptoms of influenza, chicken pox, and shingles, without consulting a physician.
- In patients that take this product as an anticoagulant, it should not be discontinued without consulting a physician.
- Also, taking Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, or other NSAIDs concurrently with this product, for more than a few days, should be avoided without consulting a physician.
Use during Pregnancy and Lactation
This drug should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How and when to take it
- Adults:1-2 tablets daily
- Children over 12 years old: 1-2 tablets daily
- For best results, take a tablet in the morning and at night after a meal.
For best results, take this drug with or after a meal, with a lot of water, and 15-30 minutes before sleep.
How long to take it
In case of any physician recommendation, continue taking it until the visible symptoms have improved.
What to do if you miss a dose
If you miss a dose of Phytosprin100, try to take it as soon as remember if it’s almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the regular time. Do not take two doses of it at the same time.

Things you must do
- Consult a physician, if fever continues for 3 days while using this drug.
Things to be careful of
- Concurrent use of Acetazolamide and salicylates may cause urinary and fecal incontinence, impaired intellect, and eventually will cause a coma.
- Concomitant use of this product with alcohol increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and gastritis.
- The risk of bleeding increases if this product is used with anticoagulants such as warfarin and heparin.
- Concurrent use of this product with antiplatelet medications, such as Plavix, and also with NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen or naproxen, may increase gastrointestinal complications.
- Concomitant use of this product with blood pressure and lipid lowering drugs decreases the effects of phytosprin100.
- Concurrent use of this product with beta-blockers may decrease its effects.
- Concurrent use of this product with diuretics decreases their therapeutic effects and causes toxic effects.
- Concurrent use of this product with acidic drugs, such as methotrexate, causes a reduction in the excretion of methotrexate and enhances its toxicity.
- Concomitant use of this product with phenytoin and valproate sodium increases their effects.
- Concurrent use of this product with sulfonylurea increases both their effectiveness and toxicity.
- Concurrent use of this product with spironolactone decreases its effectiveness.
- This product interacts with the absorption of itraconazole, ketoconazole, and tetracyclines.
• Side effects
Stomach complaints could occur as a side effect due to the tannin content.

- Store in a dry place, keep away from direct sunlight and below 25 °C.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Disposal
Do not put into sewer lines. Dispose in the everyday rubbish bin.
